Outside Plant (OSP) Installations:

Outside plant Installation is a critical step in developing any telecommunication network. OSP operations require a thorough consideration of network requirements, network design, building and construction structures, as well as anticipation of possible stress on the cables and the installations given the environment of the build (aerial, underground, exposure to elements and different weather conditions, etc.).

Inside Wiring (ISW) Installations [FTTH]:

Once the OSP team has completed their work and the optical fiber cable has been placed in electrical rooms or service vaults, the Inside Wiring Installation team takes over the installation. At this stage, technicians will run the cable into the residential or commercial units and terminate both ends of the fiber optic cable to make it ready for connection to modems and service cabinets.

Fiber Optic Cable and Performance Testing:

Connection and performance testing are to evaluate the quality of various components and installations. Unique Telecommunications teams conduct a test at the end of their respective jobs; additionally, we own the adequate equipment and expertise in offering professional testing services including Power Meter Testing, End to End Testing, Splice Loss Testing, and Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) tests.

Fusion Splicing:

After cable placement stage of installation is completed, the cables need to be spliced. In fusion splicing, two cables are joined together with the use of an electrical heat arc. A quality of splice is crucial to a fast and reliable connection through the optical fiber. Unique Telecommunications’ specialized teams for fiber optic fusion splicing are equipped with splice vans, splicing machines (single & ribbon), and termination kits, and test equipment (EXPO OTDR & Power Meter).
